Life is Good Here! How residents Rate Life in Sahuarita!

At the Town’s request, the National Research Center, in partnership with the International City/County Management Association, recently conducted a survey designed to gather information about residents’ opinions about life in Sahuarita. The survey instrument was developed by a panel of national experts and pilot tested in several other cities and towns. This statistically valid survey had a response rate sufficient to provide a margin of error of 5%.

The very good news is that 89% of respondents rated the Town of Sahuarita as “excellent” or “good” as a place to live. Residents focused most positively on the cleanliness, overall appearance, and reputation of the Town, as well as on quality of life issues.

Ride of Silence” Celebrates 10th Anniversary with May 15th event in Honor of Cyclists Killed or Injured

Ride of silence

Bikers of all skill levels and interests are invited to participate in this international observance. The Ride of Silence commemorates its tenth anniversary this year. It all started in Dallas, Texas in 2003 when Chris Phelan organized the first ride after his friend and cyclist was hit by the mirror of a passing bus and was killed. Word spread about the event and now it is observed in more than 300 locations worldwide.  Vice-Mayor Lynne Skelton has ridden in the past and here is what she had to say about this special event; “Participating in the Ride of Silence is a somber experience that lightens up as you to come to realize the awareness you are bringing to the community. An awareness of sharing the road, drive safe, ride safe.”
