Urban Fishing Program

Sahuarita Lake is one of the participating bodies of water in the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Urban Fishing Program.

The lake is stocked every two weeks, it’s currently being stocked with rainbow trout.

There are rules about fishing in Sahuarita Lake and they are clearly posted on signs at the south end and north end of the lake.

Please note that Sahuarita Lake Park hours are “sunrise to sunset,” due to the close proximity of houses surrounding the lake. This means anglers may fish during the hours between sun rise and sunset. Fishing before dawn or after sunset is illegal.

There is also a “bag limit” which is the number of fish an angler may catch per species, per day.

In urban lakes the limits are:

Urban Fishin Bag and Size Limits

If you see someone fishing at night, or taking more than their bag limit of fish, please call Operation Game Thief at 1-800-352-0700 or call 911.
