“Come Outside and Enjoy Your Parks!”
Parks and Recreation Director’s Message from Debbie Summers
Celebrate summer at the Town’s parks! We hope you will enjoy the annual Family Fun Night celebration on July 24 at North Santa Cruz Park. At this free event, we will celebrate the achievements of the Mayor’s Get Fit Challenge as well as showcase other family fun activities in celebration of National Parks and Recreation Month. On August 7 and 8, join us for Canoe Days at Sahuarita Lake Park, an event co-sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 301.
The six Town of Sahuarita parks make it fun to be outdoors, so I hope you will take the opportunity to explore all that they have to offer. Walking trails, ball fields, fishing, and off leash dog parks are just a few of the many amenities our parks have to offer. At our Anamax Park Recreation Center, you can join one of our special interest classes, fitness programs, or adult sports leagues. Your youngsters can participate in one of our many youth programs, including our dynamic after school program. We strive to offer programs that provide benefits of better health, socialization, coordination, and just plain fun.
There is much to experience in Sahuarita’s wonderful parks and programs. Please explore our opportunities and try one for yourself!
Fall is fast on its way. Remember to mark your calendars for Fiesta Sahuarita, the annual Town of Sahuarita birthday party, on September 25, at Anamax Park. There will be contests, give-a-ways, numerous vendors, local food, performances, and much more. You won’t want to miss it!
